Description:
|
The Aedes aegypti mosquito line OX513A expresses a conditional lethality trait (in the absence of tetracycline) and a fluorescent marker.
OX513A was produced by microinjecting the #OX513 rDNA construct with a transposase helper plasmid (#265). The rDNA construct consists of regulatory sequences from Ae. aegypti and Drosophila melanogaster, of protein coding sequences from tetracycline transcriptional activator variant known as tTAV (synthetic source), of a DsRed2 gene (from the Discosoma species of marine coral) and of a non‐autonomous transposon inverted terminal repeat sequences (from the Trichoplusiani piggyBac transposable element).
The OX513A line was confirmed to be free of plasmid backbone sequences. The insert has been shown to be stable and a complete single copy insertion.
