Description:
|
The genetically enhanced materials express the BHB Hi-Yield trait, which is designed to increase photosynthetic efficiency and/or capacity resulting in a higher yielding maize crop.
The Zea mays event BHB Hi-Yield Maize was developed by genetic recombination facilitated by meganuclease induced double-stranded-breaks and DNA repair templates.
The DNA repair template contains genetic materials that result in enhanced photosynthetic efficiency and/or capacity of the genetically engineered Zea mays. These genetic material are flanked by genomic Zea mays DNA on either side, matching the area surrounding the meganucleases double-stranded-break target.
Meganucleases and DNA repair templates are transferred into Zea mays by biolistic gene gun methods.
