Description:

Maize event DP043A47-3 was produced by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation with plasmid PHP27118.
It contains a truncated version of the cry1F gene from Bacillus thuringiensis var. aizawai which encodes a 605 amino acid protein and confers resistance to damage by lepidopteran pests.
It also contains the cry34Ab1 and cry35Ab1 genes, both isolated from Bacillus thuringiensis strain PS149B1. The cry34Ab1 gene encodes a 123 amino acid protein, cry35Ab1 encodes a 383 amino acid protein, both confer resistance to coleopteran insects.
Maize 43A47 also contains a version of the phosphinothricin acetyl transferase gene from Streptomyces viridochromogenes (pat) that has been optimized for expression in maize and confers tolerance to phosphinothricin (glufosinate).
Southern blot analyses confirm that maize 43A47 contains one intact copy of the T-DNA from PHP27118 and is free from vector backbone DNA.
