The soybean event COR23134 was developed by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. Aim of the modification is a triple resistance to certain Lepidoptera and a herbicide selection marker.
The inserted T-DNA carries 4 expression cassettes:
a cry1B.34.1 cassette (CS-cry1B_1Ca1-SYNTH) containing a chimeric gene comprised of modified sequences of B. thuringensis-derived cry genes (cry1B and cry1Ca1), to confer resistance against certain Lepidoptera (e.g. Fall armyworm),
a cry1B.61.1 cassette (CS-cry1B_61_1-BACTU) encoding a modified Cry1B class insecticidal protein which confers resistance against certain Lepidoptera,
an ipd083Cb cassette (CS-ipd083Cb-ADITR), encoding a plant-derived insecticidal protein to confer resistance against Lepidoptera,
a hra_1 cassette (CS-ahas-SOYBN), encoding for a modified acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme to confer resistance against ALS inhibiting herbicides and was used as selection marker.
Southern-by-sequencing analysis indicated the integration of one copy of the T-DNA at a single genomic locus and suggested that vector backbone sequences were not integrated.
