Description:
|
The soybean event DBN8002 was generated by Agrobacterium-mediated transfer of the T-DNA from vector pDBN4006 into the genome to convey resistance to certain lepidopteran insect pests and tolerance to glufosinate
herbicide. The T-DNA region contains two expression cassettes each featuring a plant specific promotor and terminator:
the mvip3aa gene cassette (CS-vip3Aa19-BACTU) encoding for the insecticidal protein Vip3Aa19, which confers protection against feeding damage caused by certain coleopteran pests.
the pat gene cassette (CS-pat-STRVR) from Streptomyces viridochromogenes encoding for the PAT enzyme, which confers tolerance to phosphinothricin (a.k.a. glufosinate).
Southern blot and PCR analyses indicate insert integration at a single locus and a Mendelian inheritance pattern across six generations.
