Description:
|
The maize event DAS1131 was produced via Agrobacterium-mediated transformation with plasmid PHP88492 to convey resistance to certain lepidopteran insect pests and tolerance to glyphosate herbicide.
The inserted region contains two gene cassettes each featuring plant specific promotors and terminators:
the cry1Da2 gene cassette (CS-cry1Da2-BACTU) encoding for an insecticidal delta endotoxin to mediate Lepidoptera resistance.
the dgt28-epsps gene cassette (CS-dgt28-epsps-STRSV) encoding for an EPSPS protein to mediate tolerance to glyphosate herbicide.
Conventional crosses and molecular characterization by SbS™ analysis confirmed stable insertion of a single copy of the intended DNA. Sanger sequencing was used to confirm the sequence.
