Description:

ATBT04-06 potato was generated by Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation of the male-fertile potato variety Atlantic with the transformation vector PV-STBT04.

ATBT04-06 potatoes constitutively express the cry3A gene from Bacillus thuringiensis ssp. tenebrionis (CS-cry3A-BACTU) which confers a resistance to coleopteran pests and the nptII gene (CS-nptII-ECOLX) as a selection marker.

Southern Blot analyses indicate that ATBT04-06 potatoes contain three T-DNA copies inserted at three separate loci. The integrity of the T-DNA was maintained and no sequences outside the borders of the T-DNA were detected.
